Sub-contracted work for Tyrell and Benetton Formula 1 teams back in 1991 laid the foundations for Cawkwell Engineering’s success. In November of the same year, we started supplying  components for the notorious ‘F1’ road car. In 1992 we started to supply various F1 teams. From this date the decision was made to make motor sport a core component of our customer base and now we are working along side 5 of the top F1 teams around the globe.

Another field in which Cawkwell Engineering greatly contributes to is the aerospace industry, providing both mechanical parts and special work deck components for galleys and interior fittings.

Our most recent venture has been into the defence industry, assisting in the development of prototype projectiles. Working along side the designers, Cawkwell Engineering has played a vital role in the development of the new ‘FRAG-12’ projectile. These rounds are potential improvements to the combat effectiveness of shotguns in urban areas, used for stopping vehicles at roadblocks and checkpoints, barricade attack, and remote probing of potential Improvised Explosive Devices.
